Me Vs. The Insurance Co.
As I hung up the phone and went back to cooking my potatoes I began to question the validity of insurance. No offense Patty the Insurance Lady, but in every major purchase that we buy we are offered peace of mind bundled up in a web of statistics called insurance, but for the most part I have been given more head aches than theoretical tablets of aspirin. The probability of my ‘89 Jetta being stolen, broken into, or vandalized is rather obscure considering the amount of rust spots and dents that it has endured during my years reckless driving, but law is law and rust spots or not it still must be insured. The complete fallacy of the system is that over all of these years that I will pay into insurance, they will research extensively in how they can pay me back with the least amount of money. For some of my friends they pay an obscure amount and, knowingly, will never get any money back. What kind of backwards and broken system are we all ignorantly buying into here?
